Пятое поколение культового двухместного американского суперавтомобиля Dodge SRT Viper GTS получило массу технологических новинок и эргономических улучшений.

Это самый дорогой автомобиль Chrysler Group. Купе с задним приводом отделано материалами класса «премиум», и у него не такой скучный дизайн, как у Volkswagen Golf. У «гадюки» прочная легкая кожа из карбона, алюминия и высокопрочных легких сплавов стали, би-ксеноновые фары в форме змеиных глаз, очерченных подводкой из светодиодов, и она не выглядит такой неуклюжей, как ее предшественница.

Предлагаемая палитра цветов, состоит из 8 оттенков: Bright White Black, Gunmetal Pearl, Shadow Blue Pearl, Stryker Red tinted Pearl, Adrenaline Red, Race Yellow, и Blue Pearl.

Вместо сердца у него внушающий страх собранный вручную агрегат V-10 объемом 8,4 литра мощностью 640 л.с. с крутящим моментом 814 Нм при 6 200 об./мин, сделанный из алюминия. Для него инженеры рекомендуют исключительно синтетическое моторное масло Pennzoil 0W40. Расход топлива с этим мотором 13/18л./100 км. (по городу и по шоссе соответственно).

Длина этого супербрутального монстра 4,463 мм., ширина -1,941 мм. Клиренс (дорожный просвет) – 127 мм. Вес удалось уменьшить на 45 кг (1497 кг.) Коэффициент аэродинамического сопротивления у Dodge SRT Viper GTS всего 0,365.

Улучшения коснулись и механической шестиступенчатой коробки Tremec TR6060 с короткими передачами. Передаточное число главной пары редуктора было уменьшено с 3,55 до 3,07, а это значит, что максимальная скорость Dodge SRT Viper GTS увеличилась (331 км/час), но динамика разгона ухудшилась (от 0 до ста за 3,4 сек, чуть быстрее, чем Ferrari FF).

Стандартные шины Pirelli P Zero (индекс Z указывает на высокий индекс скорости шины, выше 270 км/ч) прекрасно держат любую трассу и не шумные. Впереди P295/30ZR18, сзади - P355/30ZR19.

Как опция идут Pirelli P Zero Corsa – гоночные шины с маркировкой "soft", на которых можно ездить по обычным дорогам.

Выключатель запрета запуска двигателя позволит стартовать ему оптимально.

Стандартная комплектация оснащена четырехпоршневыми вентилируемыми тормозами фирмы Brembo с алюминиевыми суппортами диаметром 355х32 мм.

Он оснащается ABS, антипробуксовочной системой. Впервые на Dodge SRT Viper GTS установили систему электронного контроля устойчивости (ESC) и систему регулирования тягового усилия.

Геометрия и точки крепления поперечных рычагов подвески были изменены. Вместо пассивных амортизаторов за дополнительную плату можно приобрести стойки Bilstein DampTronic Selec с электронным управлением, работающие в двух режимах.

Интерьер

Салон нового Dodge SRT Viper GTS наиболее просторный среди представителей с этой фамилией и поражает своей отделкой и роскошью. Водительское сидение может регулироваться по высоте на 40 мм.

Приборная панель легко читаемая, с аналоговым тахометром и цифровым спидометром. Из гаджетов есть цветной 7” дисплей, 8,4-дюймовый сенсорный экран системы UConnect.SiriusXM Travel Link поможет получать обновленную информацию о наличии пробок на дорогах. USB, SD, Bluetooth тоже есть, как и система доступа без ключа.

Звук высочайшего качества обеспечивает стереосистема Harman Kardon с 18-ю колонками, включая четыре сабвуфера, расположенные сзади.

Минимальная цена составляет 97,395 долларов, но стоимость может доходить до 120,395$.

Ручная сборка Dodge SRT Viper GTS уже началась на заводе в Детройте (Conner Avenue Assembly Plant).

Компания SRT, тюнинговое подразделение концерна Chrysler, в ближайшие выходные на калифорнийском Конкурсе элегантности в Пэббл Бич представит специальную модификацию суперкара Viper GTS, разработанную в честь запуска модели в серийное производство.

Новинка, получившая название Launch Edition, будет окрашена в синий цвет с двумя белыми полосами, проходящими через весь кузов. Такая окраска, по словам представителей американского производителя, призвана напомнить о прошлых поколениях «Вайпера», выпускавшихся с 1996 по 2006 год.

Также спецверсия отличается от обычных суперкаров новыми колесными дисками, другими шильдиками на капоте и рулевом колесе, обшитыми кожей сиденьями с контрастной прострочкой, отделкой потолка из алькантары.

Техническая начинка суперкара не подверглась изменениям. Суперкар по-прежнему будет комплектоваться 640-сильным двигателем V10 объемом 8,4 литра и шестиступенчатой «механикой». Кузовные панели «Вайпера» выполнены из алюминия и карбона. Купе в версии GTS также имеет регулируемую подвеску с двумя вариантами и тормозные механизмы Brembo.

Первый товарный «Вайпер» в июне был продан на аукционе Barrett-Jackson за 300 тысяч долларов.

The Chrysler Group’s Street and Racing Technology (SRT) brand will mark their first official appearance at the renowned automotive events in Monterey, Calif., with the unveiling of the new, limited-edition 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition model.

The 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition evokes memories of past Viper Coupe reveals in 1996 and 2006 with symbolic GTS Blue paint and dual Bright White stripes – exclusive to Launch Edition models – running the length of its all-new exterior that incorporates iconic Viper styling cues with a contemporary execution. The 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition carries on the tradition of special Viper model builds to the fifth generation of the American-built supercar with true performance enthusiasts and collectors in mind.

“Designed with Viper loyalists in mind, the 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition model brings back the classic paint schemes that have adorned all previous Viper coupe launches to help us celebrate the return of our brand’s flagship performance machine to the supercar market,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – Street and Racing Technology Brand and Motorsports and Senior Vice President – Product Design, Chrysler Group LLC. “Our American-built supercar showcases the very best we have to offer by incorporating superior craftsmanship, the finest materials, a host of new technologies and ergonomic improvements while respecting its focus on outright performance.”

In addition to its historically significant paint scheme, the wheels on SRT Viper Launch Edition models are a modern deep-section design, featuring a five-spoke polished forged-aluminum design. “Stryker” badges found on the hood and steering wheel add to the exclusivity, with a blue background replacing grey found on all other 2013 SRT Vipers models.

The new Stryker logo was named by owners who attended the 2010 Viper Owners Invitational event in Salt Lake City. Stryker marks the first new emblem for Viper since 2003 and the third incarnation of a Viper logo, following “Sneaky Pete” and “Fang.”

Inside of the 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition, a serialized dash plaque further improves collectability by aligning the build sequence number to the vehicle identification number. Black Laguna leather with contrast stitching is found throughout, covering the seats, door trim, instrument panel, steering wheel, grab handle, shift knob and center console. Alcantara covers the headliner and white bezels are finished in Satin Silver.

Return of the ‘Snake’

The 2013 SRT Viper and SRT Viper GTS models are set to return in fourth quarter of 2012 with more power and performance, superior craftsmanship, new technologies and creature comforts.

The all-aluminum, mid-engine 8.4-liter V-10 powerplant delivers 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports car engine in the world. Standard safety features include electronic multistage stability control, traction control and new 4-channel antilock brake system (ABS)

An all-new carbon-fiber and aluminum skin is sculpted for high-speed stability and a slippery .364 drag coefficient. Chassis enhancements bring 50 percent improvement in torsional stiffness, while triple-digit weight reduction results in a Viper best power-to-weight ratio.

The 2013 SRT Viper models feature timeless exterior designs incorporating iconic Viper styling cues with a contemporary execution. All-new, innovative interior designs set new standards with premium materials, new technologies and superior craftsmanship.

In addition to showcasing the new 2013 SRT Viper GTS Launch Edition during the weekend, the SRT brand will have an expanded new vehicle display at the Quail Lodge on Friday, Aug. 17, along with additional displays and interactive fan activities at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca Raceway from Aug. 17–19 and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance from Aug. 16-19.
